Sarkhej Roza, Ahmedabad- Master piece of architecture- Part-1

Sarkhej Roza, situated around 10 kms South west of Ahmedabad is an architectural masterpiece. It is built in "Indo-Saracenic" architectural style. One of the most amazing feature of this tomb is complete absence of arches.Pierced stone trellises are intricate and worth thousand words.Built around 1450 , it is mausoleum of Sufi saint Ganj Baksh.  Complex also houses mausoleum of Sultan Muhammad Begda and his queen built by Sultan himself.

It was a pleasure to visit it for photography. Still many un-explored area remains to be explored by my camera. Can't wait to capture it for eternity.

First view of the palace of Sultan and his queen was breathtaking.

Steps leading to the tank made a nice texture in the landscape.

These steps must have thousand stories to tell!

I was daydreaming about the life of Sultan and his queen in their beautiful palace. Suddenly the wind blew and swept away my dreams and yet gave me beautiful glimpse of their paradise.

Please do go through the website below to know more about this amazing place.
