I am continuing with my series Faces of India. I am fascinated by the faces I see on the streets of any village,town or city of India. Each one has some story to tell. Each one's face has their background written on it. People of India can easily identify person's region,religion,caste,creed,background from his/her faces.

Thol Bird Sanctuary Ahmedabad

Thol Bird Sanctuary is situated around 20 kilometers from Ahmedabad. It covers total area of  7 sq.kms.One can find more than 100 varieties of birds there including Flamingoes,Pelicans,Cranes,Egrets, Herons and many more. Ideal season to go there is between November to February. Surprisingly even in this very hot month of June we found plenty of birds flocking there. Marshland surrounding the lake was lush Green. Water was serene. Everything was so peaceful. It is very easy to pass entire day there enjoying the vista and colourful visitors.

Peacock-National bird of India

Beautiful Peacock was designated as National Bird of India in 1963. It is a treat to watch male peacock with its full plumage dancing to please peahens. It's beauty can not be described in words. For Indian people Peacock has a special place in their heart as peacock feather was worn by God Krishna on his head. Blue colour on its neck is brilliant and no laboratory in the word can reproduce it.

Kankaria Lake -Ahmedabad's jewel

Kankaria lake,in ahmedabad, was built by Sultan Qutubuddin in 15th century AD.Circumference of this lake , 34 sided polygon,  is round 2.30 kms. It's ancient name was Hauj-E-Kutub.In the middle is Nagina Wadi a royal garden which can be accessed by causeway. Today this crumbling lake is restored to its glory and it has become a happening place for the residents of the area. Surrounded by beautiful walkway,children's toy train , famous Zoo of Ahmedabad, it is a place for relaxation for the city of Ahmedabad.
