Monsoon Raag

I have always loved monsoon season. Change in the landscape is sudden and dramatic. Parched land comes alive. Song of the monsoon is so melodious to hear. When I  recently heard a piece of Ryuichi Sakamoto called " A Rain Song", I thought of using it as a background music for my photographs of monsoon.

This shot was taken during last monsoon. Light falling on this water made it shimmer.

Waiting for Monsoon

After scorching heat of this summer everyone is eagerly awaiting monsoon. Monsoon in India is dramatic. It's beauty can not be described in words. Parched land suddenly gets soaked with  water and earthy smell of first rains waft through the air.I can't wait to smell first rain. It will be first rainy season after I learned to hold the camera or still learning to hold the camera. Peacocks  first heralds the good news. Sky first take on Orange colour thanks to reflection of water bearing clouds.

Every one just waits with bated breath for first drops of rains.

Snails have come out in large numbers expecting rains any moment!
