Mosque at Sarkhej Roza is one of the most beautiful piece of architecture in Ahmedabad. With total area of 4300 square yard it is an imposing mosque. It does not follow any specific architecture style. But it seems that in building it local craftspeople must have been involved.

Sarkhej Roza ,Ahmedabad Mausoleum of Ganj Baksh
Sufi Saint Ganj Baksh 's Dargah at Sarkhej Roza is architectural marvel. He was highly venerated figure till he died at the age of 111 and many people are his followers even today. Construction of his mausoleum took place in 1451 A.D. This dargah is one of the largest in Gujarat. All walls are with beautiful trellised windows. Sun filtering through this windows create magical images. One feels at a peace by just entering the dargah. It has 13 domes. 5th aisle is narrower than others seen from any corner.

Women are not allowed in the inner sanctorum.

To continue my series of photographs of Sarkhej Roza,Ahmedabad.
Sultan Mehmud Begda built a mausoleum for himself, his queens and his family opposite the tomb of Gunj Baksh. Main mausoleum contains tombs of 3 rulers of Gujarat. It is surrounded by walls with beautiful lattice windows. Lights filtering through these windows create a sight to behold.

Sarkhej Roza, Ahmedabad- Master piece of architecture- Part-1
Sarkhej Roza, situated around 10 kms South west of Ahmedabad is an architectural masterpiece. It is built in "Indo-Saracenic" architectural style. One of the most amazing feature of this tomb is complete absence of arches.Pierced stone trellises are intricate and worth thousand words.Built around 1450 , it is mausoleum of Sufi saint Ganj Baksh. Complex also houses mausoleum of Sultan Muhammad Begda and his queen built by Sultan himself.
It was a pleasure to visit it for photography. Still many un-explored area remains to be explored by my camera. Can't wait to capture it for eternity.
First view of the palace of Sultan and his queen was breathtaking.
