Sindoor Khela

Tradition of Sindoor Khela is around 400 years old. Almost as old as tradition of Durga Puja. It is celebrated by Bengali women on Vijaya Dashmi day for long life of their husbands and prosperity of their families. Sindoor is a Red vermilion powder which is put in hair parting by Hindu married women.

Women first smear feet and face of Goddess Durga with Sindoor (Vermilion).

Married women smear each other's faces and cheeks with Sindoor.

Women also offer sweets to each other to celebrate this festival.
